01 / About Gourmet Chocolates Pizza Co
Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co. was a long-standing ecommerce business specialising in artisan chocolate gifts. Lunar Reach’s work with the company concluded in January 2025. The business subsequently ceased trading in January 2026. All results within this case study relate specifically to the period in which Lunar Reach was actively working with the company.
A Great Product Held Back by Its Digital Infrastructure
Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co. had built a distinctive product range and established customer base, but its digital infrastructure wasn’t keeping pace with the business.
Day-to-day website management was unnecessarily difficult, site performance needed improvement, internal processes involved too much manual work and the company’s existing digital marketing wasn’t delivering the level of return the business wanted.
Lunar Reach was brought in to improve not simply how the website looked, but how the entire digital operation performed.
The key challenges
A Difficult-to-Manage Website
Routine content and product updates were creating unnecessary dependency and slowing the team down.
Website Performance
Loading speed and user experience needed significant improvement.
Conversion Friction
The journey from discovering a product to completing a purchase needed simplifying.
Inefficient Processes
Backend workflows contained unnecessary manual steps.
Underperforming Advertising
Paid search required stronger tracking, targeting and campaign management.
Search Visibility
There was significant scope to increase the company’s visibility for relevant chocolate and gift searches.
Strategy: A Complete Digital Transformation from the Ground Up
- +314% – Increase in Local Search Visibility
Rather than treating the website, SEO and advertising as separate projects, Lunar Reach approached Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Co. as a complete digital transformation.
The goal was to create a faster, easier-to-manage ecommerce platform while simultaneously improving how customers discovered the business and how effectively those visitors converted into sales.
01 — Website & Ecommerce
Making It Easier to Browse. Easier to Buy. Easier to Manage.
We rebuilt the website around a clearer ecommerce experience, improving navigation, product discovery and the overall path to purchase.
Every major design decision was considered from both a customer and commercial perspective, reducing unnecessary friction while giving the team greater control over their own website.
Key improvements:
- Clearer product categories
- Simplified navigation
- Improved calls to action
- Faster page performance
- Improved mobile experience
- More manageable CMS
02 — SEO
Building Sustainable Search Visibility.
Alongside the website redevelopment, Lunar Reach implemented an SEO strategy designed to increase visibility for commercially relevant searches around chocolate gifts, artisan chocolate and the company’s specialist product range.
The work included:
- Keyword research
- Search-intent analysis
- On-page optimisation
- Site architecture
- Metadata optimisation
- Internal linking
- Technical SEO
- Local search optimisation
03 — Google Ads
Turning Advertising Spend Into Measurable Performance.
Existing Google Ads activity required greater visibility and control, so Lunar Reach reviewed the account and rebuilt the campaign structure around stronger tracking and higher-intent searches.
This allowed advertising decisions to be made around actual performance rather than simply clicks and impressions.
Then:
- Campaign restructuring
- High-intent keyword targeting
- Negative keyword management
- Ad copy optimisation
- Budget optimisation
- Conversion tracking
04 — Systems & Team
Giving the Business Greater Control.
The project went beyond customer-facing marketing. Lunar Reach also looked at how the website was being managed internally and identified opportunities to reduce unnecessary administration.
We improved workflows and provided hands-on CMS training so the team could manage products, promotions and everyday website content without relying on a developer for routine changes.
Then:
- CMS training
- Workflow optimisation
- Product management improvements
- Reduced developer dependency
